Who We Are

Alice and Tom became a part of the Navigators in October of 2020 and are firm believers in helping folks become disciples by lovingly helping them at spiritual growth across life stages. Both of us are retired, but enjoy an abundant schedule of meeting people for a meal, helping serve in community events, joining in with a community church at their local church. You will find us enjoying normal things like Garage and Estate Sales for Alice, and golf and running 5 K's for Tom.  Our experience in church involvement spans 14 years with 10 years invested in starting and growing a new church in Robinson, a community near Waco.  Often you'll find us at home with a group we've know well to those we've just met, chatting, laughing and discovering and applying life lessons from the Scriptures.

What We Do

Through Life-to-Life® relationships, The Navigators discipleship fulfills the message of 2 Timothy 2:2: “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others (NIV).”

Our goal is to Encounter individuals God brings into our path, Engage them in intentional conversation, get to know them and find out what God may have for their lives.  Then comes the Equipping to help the person gain the necessary tools to be an effective disciplemaker.  The final step is to Empower by sending them out to go and make disciplemakers.

The driving verse is from Isaiah 50:4, "The Lord God has given me the tongue of disciples, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word.  He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to listen as a disciple."

Who We Serve

Navigators Church Ministries (NCM) in the Waco, Texas area pursues the calling to raise up, encourage, and train lifelong laborers within the local church.  We have a vision to see local churches develop a lifelong culture within their own community and expand by reaching their local neighborhoods for Christ.

Why We Serve

God has placed within our hearts various promises from His word to fulfill His great Commandment, to love Him and our neighbors, and the Great Commission, to go and make disciples.  When we see a newborn Christian grow to  full maturity turn to us and with tears in their eyes proclaim, "Thanks to my Lord and thanks to my friends for guiding down the pathway to fulfill Christ's greatest desire."
